Tasa ~ 332 days in foal

Moving right along…hope I’ll be able to see some good changes in Tasa so I don’t miss the birth.  I really like to make extra care that I am present during a maiden mares births…though I have no doubt Tasa will be a fantastic momma!

Tasa ~ 325 days in foal

Tasa has really changed her patterns up and is slowing down on her feed.  Being a maiden – anyones’ guess is a good one!  We’ll just have to wait and see.

Tasa ~ 321 days in foal

Tasa had a hard time keeping up with Mari and Troy today…she was trotting as fast as her wobbly legs would let her – poor gal!  Tasa changed her patterns drastically today.  Being a maiden mare, it could mean something or it could mean nothing!  Since I am doing nightly checks on Leza now, Tasa will be on the list also.  Pictures from yesterday.

Tasa ~ 318 days in foal

Tasa is coming along, every day getting closer to having that first Gringo foal!  We are super excited to see what this young pair will produce.  She is shaping up with her udders, but many maiden mares do not have full udders the first time around, so it may be hard to tell exactly when she will foal.  I really don’t want to miss this one…

Picture of Tasa and Mari this morning enjoying some girl time!

Tasa ~ 297 days in foal

Tasa is handling her first pregnancy really well.  She has got to be the cutest broodmare ever!  I am super excited about this foal for many reasons.  Mainly because this is our first foal from both the dam and sire that we have bred and raised ourselves.  She is our only maiden mare due this year and I planned on her foaling after a few of the more experienced mares so she has good examples to follow. I don’t have any doubt she won’t be a good momma, as she used to mother all the little ones that she helped raise and even protected them from the other older ones that were pushy with them.
