Leza had a gorgeous filly last night. She began waxing and dripping milk all day; baby born 2:30 am. Mom and baby doing great!

Some good changes overnight and this morning. I am making a guess and saying tonight or tomorrow night – depending on milk changes this evening.

Leza ~ 336 days in foal

Lezas’ milk is still yellowish…she usually stays the same for a loooong time, then quickly changes and shapes up (at least that is what she did last time). The foal has really dropped, but not turned yet. She is in total misery and usually during late night checks she is flat out in the stall snoring! She is moving super slow lately too. I’m glad she held out past April 1st…did not want an April Fools baby;) I don’t think she did either – she takes life very seriously.

Milk still the same color, though it is getting thicker. Leza is getting super loose behind as all her muscles get loose; she is waddling very slowly the last few days and that belly gets bigger by the hour. I expect any morning to see a baby next to her when I come out! I will start doing nightly checks on her starting tonight.

Lezas’ milk is still yellowy but getting thicker and almost skim milk colored. I have a feeling she may drag this out and now with a cold front coming in for a few nights, I do hope she waits. The foal is beginning to drop now and last night that baby was flipping around in there changing positions and making Leza extra uncomfy.

This is the gestation length that Leza foaled on with her last baby…however, her milk is still yellowish and baby is in the same position. Poor gal is miserable and waddling around. I’m sure she wants this foal out as much as I do!

Lezas’ udders did not go down much during the day today while she was out and about. Her milk is still yellowish, but getting thicker.

Lezas’ milk is still yellowish but her udders are full and warm. Last foal she had, she went 330 days…I don’t think she will make it until the weekend, but you never know!! Picture of pretty Leza enjoying the windy day today:

Leza is not eating her hay well the last 23 hours. Her udder are growing daily; today I checked her milk and it is still clear, so we are a ways off.

Well, we made it past the cutoff date…so we are good to go with Leza. She is shaping up steady and I am thinking within the next week or so. Dr. Mary was out today to do bodywork on the broodmares; Leza is just loving it and really gets super relaxed. The foal usually starts jumping around toward the end too…

Leza is starting to bag up quite a bit; however her udders go way down after she has been out all day. She might not make it all the way ’til her due date either…! Next Thursday is the 320 day cutoff; I’m sure she’ll make it at least that far. Her last foal she carried 330 days, so that puts her March 27 if she goes the same.
